Colour on clouds

Now 5:37 p.m. I am returning home. At this moment I want to share the scenic beauty of my favourite river Ganga. These are the pics of this moment.

Pather Panchali

Today, the first feature film of the great filmmaker Satyajit Roy - "Pather Panchali" released in Kolkata for the first time. It is a great film in Bengali language. And it is my first choice amongst hundreds of films that I have seen. In this picture, Durga, the elder sister of Apu, is setting hair of her brother with a comb and Sarbajaya, mother of them, is looking over them and enjoying their conversations. This picture, I think, is the most memorable scene of the entire film as they are the key characters of the story and the filmmaker also used the scene as a poster. By this way, the scene became memorable and ever familiar to all those who love good films.

LOVE

Today is Mother Teresa's birthday. She spent her life for the cause of orphans of Kolkata. Those, who have no shelter, then Mother provided them. We all Kolkatan's love her and love her works.

Hilsa!

Yesterday, when I reached at the jetti in the afternoon, the fishermen were there to sell Hilsa. I saw them strolling on boat.

370Kg. Fish!

A fish(Bhetki in Bengal) of 370Kg. came at the Kumortuli Ghat of Kolkata from river Ganges, yesterday. Young guys are enthusiastic. [News source:Newspaper]

Last Thursday, I went to Singur for check up of my wife. When I enrolled name at the clinic, then I had plenty of time to wait for the doctor. Suddenly I watched glimpses of an adjacent pond with greens on its water. I rushed to the site and seen that the pond was surrounded by dense leafy greens, especially on the opposite bank. I could not resist myself to capture a few shots for the viewers of my blog.

Garbages

Last Friday, I was going through the footpath of our city - Kolkata. It was a cloudy morn. Just about to rain. Road vehicles were passing through. Then I saw the hill of garbages beside the boundary wall of a famous heritage building - a memento of British Raj. My city has been facing critical problem of banning old vehicles by court order. So there are no vehicle since a month to take over the garbages. And thus public health is being endangering. Pedestrians are passing the spot with handkerchief on their nose.
